Deep Purple Mk II: (1984-1989) Part I

Tuvieron que pasar 8 años desde la última vez que Deep Purple subió a un escenario. Los rumores y la esperanza de ver a Deep Purple nuevamente se hicieron realidad cuando el 27 de abril de 1984 se anunció oficialmente la reunión de la banda. Los miembros más emblemáticos de Deep Purple, la gran formación Mark II (Blackmore, Gillan, Glover, Lord y Paice), dieron inicio después de casi una década al renacimiento de una de las bandas pilares del Rock.

Perfect Strangers 

Deep Purple lanzó un nuevo álbum titulado Perfect Strangers el 16 de septiembre de 1984 en los EE.UU. y entre octubre y noviembre en el resto del mundo. En el álbum destacan los temas: «Perfect Strangers», «Knocking At Your Back Door», «Under The Gun», «A Gypsy's Kiss» y «Wasted Sunsets». Se editaron 4 videoclips promocionales para apoyar la difusión del álbum, con los temas «Perfect Strangers», «Knocking At Your Back Door», «Under The Gun» y «Nobody's Home».

The House Of Blue Light 

El 12 de enero de 1987 es lanzado un nuevo álbum de estudio: The House of Blue Light. En el nuevo disco destacan los temas: «Call Of The Wild», «Mad Dog», «Dead Or Alive», «Bad Attitude» y «The Unwritten Law». Además se filmaron 2 videoclips promocionales para apoyar la difusión del álbum, con los temas «Call Of The Wild» y «Bad Attitude».

Durante la realización del álbum surgen nuevamente los roces entre Gillan y Blackmore. Aquello que a esas alturas se creía sepultado resurge nuevamente, al igual que en la década anterior.

"Live In Long Beach 1976" de Deep Purple, es uno de sus directos más difíciles de encontrar donde podemos disfrutar de la formación MK IV (Bolin - Coverdale - Hughes - Lord - Paice), en una de sus primeras actuaciones en vivo juntos, tras la salida de Ritchie Blackmore. Originalmente grabado en Long Beach Arena, California el 27 de Febrero de 1976, este radio broadcast fue la actuación de la banda en The King Biscuit Flower Hour, el famoso programa de radio estadounidense por donde pasaban artistas como The Rolling Stones o Bruce Springsteen.

Después de la desaparición de la banda en 1976,se lanzó un álbum en vivo llamado Last Concert in Japan en 1977. Fue compilado a partir de un show que la banda hizo en Tokio el 15 de diciembre de 1975. Fue editado siguiendo los pasos de su anterior versión japonesa  Made in Japan , no se pudo entregar y nunca se lanzó ni en el Reino Unido ni en los EE. UU. En 2001, el programa completo fue lanzado como This Time Around: Live in Tokyo '75 .
