A pocos meses del lanzamiento del último álbum "inFinite", Ian Gillan aceptó la oferta de hacer una gira de un mes por Europa del Este con un espectáculo de rock completo, acompañado cada noche por una orquesta local diferente. Gillan decidió reclutar a la Don Airey Band, que cuenta con el talento de guitarra de Simon McBride. Se grabaron y mezclaron tres espectáculos diferentes para cada formato. Live in Moscow en video (blu-ray), Live in Warsaw en CD y digital y Live in San Petersburg en 3LP.

The House of Blue Light es el duodécimo álbum de estudio de Deep Purple, publicado en 1987. Es el segundo disco publicado por la formación clásica de la banda (Blackmore, Gillan, Lord, Paice y Glover) desde la reconciliación del grupo en 1984.
La creación de este álbum fue un proceso largo y dificultoso. Ritchie Blackmore señaló que la mayoría de las canciones habían sido grabadas más de una vez debido en parte a las constantes discusiones de los miembros sobre cuestiones musicales. Esto fue remarcado por Gillan quien dijo que no sentía el espíritu de la banda en este trabajo. Los temas "Call of the Wild" y "Bad Attitude" fueron editados en videoclips para apoyar la difusión del álbum.
En su versión en LP, varias de las canciones son más cortas que en el CD. La reedición de 1999 incluyó las versiones del LP, con la correspondiente reducción en el tiempo total.

Nobody's Perfect álbum en directo de Deep Purple, lanzado en 1988.
Editado originalmente como disco doble en vinilo, o simple en CD, el álbum fue grabado a lo largo de varios conciertos por Europa y EE.UU. durante 1987 y 1988, en el marco de la gira promoción de "The House of Blue Light". El último tema del disco, "Hush", es una regrabación en estudio por el 20º aniversario de la canción, originalmente incluida en el disco debut "Shades of Deep Purple", de 1968. La portada fue diseñada por el estudio gráfico Hipgnosis. En 1999 Nobody's Perfect fue remasterizado agregando, 3 temas extras.

Beyond Good and Evil es el séptimo álbum de The Cult. Lanzado en 2001, es el primer álbum nuevo en seis años y medio. Debutó en el puesto N° 37 en Estados Unidos, N° 22 en Canadá, N° 25 en España.

Sólo se editó un sencillo, "Rise", lanzado oficialmente y con un video musical. Las canciones "Breathe" y "True Believers" fueron editados como sencillos promocionales, pero no son sencillos oficiales.

Este álbum también marca el regreso de Matt Sorum como baterista de The Cult. A pesar que Sorum estuvo con la banda en la gira de "Sonic Temple" en 1989 y 1990, es la primera vez que graba un álbum de estudio con la banda.
