Rory parecía tener un resfriado durante esta gira por los EE.UU. porque su voz suena un poco débil, pero su forma de tocar la guitarra excelente, como siempre.
La caratula dice 12, pero creo que el 11 es la fecha correcta.

Desde lo mas profundo de mi discografía hace ya unos años pude rescatar este pedazo de concierto del maestro Alan. Se me había olvidado por completo que hace ya unos años lo hice pasar por la peluquería, y ya no me acordaba del maravilloso trabajo que hice, de algo que no se podía casi escuchar, a lo que tenemos hoy, que es totalmente audible y muy bueno por cierto, y repito, muy bueno, si no haz la prueba.... 

Gira del album "On Air" que habia salido a la venta en los "Estates" tan solo hacia un par de semanas. Casi la totalidad del album, esta tocado en directo, lo cual no deja de ser curioso, verdad Ismael?? pero lo mejor son los musicos........... no os digo nada mas......... por cierto John Giblin fue bajista de Simple Minds en el album "Once Upn A Time" y ademas realizo la gira de dicho album, grabando el "Live in The City Of Lights". La Calidad del sonido esta mucho mas allá de la que indico, pero me es imposible quitar ese sabor a "Audiencia", por lo demás es de sonido genial, en serio.

Fue grabado en vivo en el Isle of Wight Festival de 1970 y puesto en libertad después de la separacion dela banda. Este disco es oficial pero es imposible de conseguir original lo que le convierte en una pieza de coleccionista, este sera el primero de cinco bootlegs dedicados a Rory Gallagher.

Eric Woolfson (Alan Parsons) Poe Live

La otra parte de Alan Parsons Project el señor Eric Woolfson (fallecido tristemente en el 2009) decidió continuar en solitario la saga de Tales of Mystery and Imagination de Edgar Alan Poe, con el álbum  Poe: More Tales of Mystery and Imagination del 2003. La versión teatral de Poe se estrenó en los Abbey Road Studios en noviembre de 2003. Woolfson rescata una veta teatral en sus obras, camufladas siempre en el sonido de rock estético gracias a la obra de Alan Parsons, quien sin este último, ve liberada su idea y asume su rol de creador de obras y puestas en escena teatrales, como es el caso de su obra Poe protagonizada por Steve Balsamo protagonista de Jesucristo Superstar. Aquí os dejamos este gran disco como no en directo. Wings Of Eagles me sigue poniendo los pelos de punta (los pocos que me quedan claro).

The Police-Live in Tokyo, 02.02.1981

Este es mi bootleg mas preciado, y yo lo titularía así "24 Años de aventuras y peripecias de un fan de The Police buscando un concierto desde finales de Febrero de 1981" (jajaja!!!)  A finales del año 1981 lo escuche por la radio pero solo pude pillar 4 temas para grabar, y encima la grabadora se fastidio....Soñe con él, lo busque por medio mundo, y nada hasta que con la llegada de internet a mi vida personal en 2003 lo encontré......... (24 años tarde en conseguirlo, no esta mal verdad??"!!). Para mi gusto contiene las dos mejores versiones de "Bring On The Night" y "Message In A Bottle" jamas tocadas en directo.

Preparados listos ya.................. 15 discos en 15 dias, todo el Live Aid completito, para los mas jóvenes ahí va una introducción de lo que fue el evento. 
Live Aid fueron 2 conciertos realizados el 13 de julio de 1985, en forma simultánea en el Estadio Wembley de Londres, Inglaterra y en el Estadio J. F. K de Filadelfia (Estados Unidos), cuyo motivo fue recaudar fondos en beneficio de los países de África oriental, en concreto, Etiopía y Somalia. Pocos meses antes, se publicó la canción We Are the World con los mismos fines.
Como el evento se realizó en dos conciertos en forma simultánea en Londres (Reino Unido) y Filadelfia (Estados Unidos), Phil Collins pudo presentarse en vivo en ambos conciertos el mismo día gracias al avión supersónico Concorde, que unía Inglaterra con Estados Unidos solo tres horas de vuelo.
Después de una gran sequía entre 1983 y 1985 en la región árida del norte de Etiopía, en la cual se produjo lo que se denominó en ese entonces «el infierno de la tierra», la falta de alimentos y el poco agua que había provocaron una muerte masiva de la población por culpa del hambre que reinaba.

La cadena de televisión BBC mostró al mundo lo que ocurría, esto impulsó al músico y actor Bob Geldof a viajar para conocer sobre el terreno lo que estaba pasando en África y posteriormente a crear la fundación Band Aid Trust, encargada de manejar y distribuir toda la ayuda que se lograra recaudar gracias a los dos conciertos.

Para lograr la atención del mundo, Geldof y su amigo Midge Ure, cofundador de la fundación y cantante de Ultravox, lograron comunicarse con la mayoría de los grandes y reconocidos artistas europeos de la época que, sin problema en participar, se hicieron presentes de manera voluntaria, formando Band Aid, la cual, grabó en 1984 Do They Know It's Christmas?, canción de gran éxito mundial y junto a We Are the World, grabada en 1985 por los grandes artistas de Estados Unidos, fueron los grandes himnos de Live Aid.

Entre los presentes se puede nombrar a: David Bowie, Phil Collins, Elvis Costello, Dire Straits, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Queen, Status Quo, Sting, U2, Ultravox, Wham!, The Who, Bryan Adams, The Beach Boys, The Cars, Black Sabbath, Eric Clapton, Duran Duran, Hall & Oates, Mick Jagger, Judas Priest, Kenny Loggins, Billy Ocean, Ozzy Osbourne, Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, REO Speedwagon, Lionel Richie, Santana, Simple Minds, Tears For Fears, Tina Turner, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Sade, Patti LaBelle, Nik Kershaw, Band Aid, entre otros.
Con motivo de este concierto memorable, el 13 de julio fue declarado Día Mundial del Rock.

Curt Smith/Mayfield-Demos 1997

Curt es el otro 50% de Tears For Fears. Esto es algo así como Lennon/McCartney, pero con una historia muy diferente y un fondo muy parecido. La verdad es que no se donde empieza Curt y donde empieza Mayfield, pero lo que si te digo es que se trata de unas demos muy interesantes. Como recomendación el album en solitario de Curt Smith "Soul On Board" lleno de muchos cortes tipo "Advice At The Young At Heart".
