El álbum contiene una presentación en vivo de la banda en la última fecha de su gira europea en soporte del álbum Strange Highways.​ El concierto fue grabado en el Hammersmith Apollo de Londres el 12 de diciembre de 19932​ y publicado en los formatos CD, DVD y Blueray en 2014 por Eagle Rock Entertainment. Dio at Donington UK: Live 1983 & 1987 es un álbum en vivo de Dio, lanzado en 2010.

Lanzado como doble CD por Niji Entertainment Group, unos pocos meses después del fallecimiento de Ronnie James Dio, el álbum recoge sendas actuaciones de la banda en el festival "Monsters of Rock", en Donington, Inglaterra, en 1983 y 1987, shows pertenecientes a las giras de "Holy Diver" y "Dream Evil" respectivamente. Gran parte del material incluido en este álbum aparece en las ediciones expandidas en CD de los mencionados álbumes "Holy Diver" y "Dream Evil", lanzadas en 2012 y 2013.

El 16 de mayo de 2010, Ronnie James Dio murió de cáncer de estómago en el Centro Médico de Texas en Houston, Texas, a la edad de 67 años. En 2011, se anunció que los miembros supervivientes de la formación final de Dio se embarcarían en un proyecto con el ex líder de Judas Priest, Tim “Ripper” Owens, bajo el sobrenombre de DIO Disciples.
